The operation of the cluster began through its predecessor organisations in 2007, and it was established in its current form in 2012 by the merger of two regional clusters.

Over a decade of industrial collaboration

The Bakony-Balaton Mechatronics and Vehicle Industry Cluster in its current form was established on 4 April 2012 by the merger of the Central Transdanubian Regional Innovation Cluster and the Ajka Mechatronics and Vehicle Industry Cluster. Thanks to the work of the predecessor organisations, the history of the cooperation dates back to 2007.

The cluster brings together the key industrial, economic, higher education, and research and development players of the Central Transdanubian and Bakony–Balaton region. Its members include innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, large corporations, institutions, and professional support organisations alike.

The aim of the community is to strengthen the market position of its members, promote the expansion of their domestic and international relations, and support the realisation of joint developments and investments.

The cluster's mission has three mutually reinforcing pillars:

  • Innovation: familiarisation with new technologies, development solutions and good practices, as well as the stimulation of business-oriented innovation.
  • Collaboration: support for knowledge transfer and collaborative thinking between small and medium-sized enterprises, large corporations, research institutions and professional organisations.
  • Network: running a stable business community that creates new partnerships, market opportunities and joint results.

Through its activities, the cluster contributes to increasing the region's economic competitiveness, strengthening employment, retaining working capital and improving the region's investment appeal.

Professional programmes that bring industry players closer together

The cluster programmes provide an opportunity for members to gain direct insight into each other's operations, exchange experiences and acquire up-to-date information on industry developments.

The regularly organised programmes include:

  • plant and laboratory visits;
  • clustering and business matchmaking;
  • benchmarking events;
  • professional workshops and training programmes;
  • visiting domestic and international trade exhibitions;
  • cluster delegation professional trips;
  • presentation of good technological and digitalisation practises.

The programmes not only impart knowledge, but also help to foster new supplier, technology and project partnerships.

The role of KDRIÜ in operating the cluster

The Central Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency Nonprofit Ltd., together with the Veszprém County Chamber of Commerce and Industry and VVI Veszprém Urban Development and Innovation Ltd., takes part in the operational management of the cluster.

The duties of management organisations include:

  • coordination of cluster operation;
  • liaison with member organisations;
  • organisation of professional programmes and business meetings;
  • exploring development and cooperation opportunities;
  • preparation of domestic and international projects;
  • support for innovation and investment initiatives.

With its experience in innovation management, project development and international cooperation, KDRIÜ helps cluster members achieve their shared goals.

Kik lehetnek a klaszter tagjai?

A klaszter elsősorban a járműipar, gépipar, elektronika, mechatronika, fém- és műanyagipar, automatizálás, digitalizáció, védelmi ipar és kutatás-fejlesztés területén működő vállalkozásokat és intézményeket várja. A csatlakozás pontos feltételeiről a klasztermenedzsment ad tájékoztatást.

A klaszter erős Bakony–Balaton és közép-dunántúli kötődéssel rendelkezik, ugyanakkor szakmai kapcsolatrendszere országos és nemzetközi együttműködésekre is kiterjed. Egy konkrét szervezet csatlakozási lehetőségéről a klasztermenedzsmenttel érdemes egyeztetni.

A csatlakozás első lépése a kapcsolatfelvétel a klasztermenedzsmenttel. Az előzetes egyeztetés során bemutatjuk a klaszter működését, a tagsághoz kapcsolódó lehetőségeket és a csatlakozás aktuális feltételeit.
