Tools and services to support the introduction of bio-fertilizers to support ICs
IC #1: Soil and nutrient management with organic fertilizers from chicken manure. It improves the health of the soil and the yield of poultry meat through sustainable use of manure-based fertilizers. Geographic areas: Região Centro and Região do Alentejo (Portugal). Maximum grant amount: €60,000.
IC #1: Analysis of the market demand for organic fertilizers made from chicken manure and brand creation. Building a sustainable fertilizer brand through market knowledge and environmentally friendly innovation. Geographical areas: Região Centro and Região do Alentejo (Portugal). Maximum grant amount: €60,000.
IC #3: Mapping of by-products and waste. Production of a geolocated map of organic waste and by-products to support the production of bio-fertilizer and cost analysis. Geographic areas: Any eligible region. Maximum grant amount: 50,000 €.
IC #3: Testing of struvite with compost + biochar. The formulation of biofertilizer involves mixing the waste water treatment byproduct (struvite) with compost and biochar. Geographic areas: Emilia-Romagna (Italy). Maximum grant amount: 60,000 €.
IC #3: Production of biostimulant from compost. Production of liquid biostimulants using compost and biochar, enriched with elements similar to amino acids, to create a product for sustainable agriculture rich in nutrients. Geographical areas: Any eligible region. Maximum grant amount: €60,000.
IC #3: Development of a compost + biochar mixture. Support for suppliers in formulating and initial testing of biochar-based fertilizers. Geographical areas: Any eligible region. Maximum support amount: 60,000 €.
IC #4: Measurement of the impact of bio-fertilizers on climate change. Greenhouse experiments with organic components to assess their effects under conditions such as drought, salinity or extreme temperatures. Geographic area: Catalonia (Spain). Maximum grant amount: 40,000 €.
IC #4: Field trials of bio-fertilizers adapted to specific crops. Trials on fruit trees, vineyards and olive trees to examine the effectiveness and adaptability of targeted biostimulant formulations. Geographical area: Catalonia (Spain). Maximum grant amount: 55,000 €.
IC #6: Imaging the effect of a biostimulant. Imaging different arable cultures after the application of a biostimulant to observe the visible effects. Geographical areas: Any eligible region. Maximum grant amount: 15,000 €.
IC #6: Temporal monitoring of leaf development after the application of a biostimulant following the growth of the leaves. In the early stages, it measures the quantity and quality of leaf development by comparing treated and untreated plants. Geographic areas: Any eligible region. Maximum grant amount: 25,000 €.
IC #6: Cross-environmental impact assessments. Changes caused by the biostimulants are evaluated in key sustainability indicators such as soil, water, biodiversity and fertility. Geographical areas: Any eligible region. Maximum grant amount: 20,000 €.
IC #6: Life cycle assessment of biostimulant applications. Analysis of carbon sequestration dynamics and the study of the agricultural monetization potential of biostimulant applications. Geographical areas: Any eligible region. Maximum grant amount: 15,000 €.
IC #6: Analysis of fertilizer impregnation. Assessment of the extended release and bioavailability effects of applied (carbamid type) bio-fertilizers under field conditions. Geographical areas: Any eligible region. Maximum aid amount: 10,000 €.
IC #6: Agronomic tests on grapes (heat/water stress). Evaluation of the effects of biostimulants on grapes to improve resistance to heat and water stress. Geographical areas: Any eligible region. Maximum grant amount: €5,500.
IC #6: Agronomic tests on grapes (nutrient recovery). An investigation into how biostimulants affect the regeneration of carbohydrate and mineral reserves in the grape after harvest. Geographical areas: Any eligible region. Maximum grant amount: 5,500 €.
IC #7: Evaluation of the bacteriological biostimulant effect on yield and soil fertility in exotic plant cultures. Sustainable crop growth with microbial biostimulants and smarter nitrogen use. Geographical areas: French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte, Reunion and Saint-Martin (France). Maximum grant amount: 60,000 €.

This branch aims to scale up innovative bio-fertilizer initiatives (TRL 6–8). It supports projects within the innovative product and solution areas listed in the following four categories:
- Scale-up of production: Developing strategies to increase production capacity while maintaining product quality and consistency. Implementation regions: all eligible regions. Maximum grant amount: €60,000 (up to €120,000 in the case of collaborative projects).
- Innovative components and formulation processes: Examination of new formulation methods to improve the efficiency and applicability of bio-fertilizers. These include, for example, seed treatment techniques and the development of various physical forms (e.g., granules, pellets, crystals, powder). Implementation regions: all eligible regions. Maximum grant amount: €60,000 (up to €120,000 in collaborative projects).
- Product evaluation: The evaluation of product efficiency under greenhouse or field conditions, including the characterization of the effect mechanism and the analysis of the sources of variability. Implementation regions: all eligible regions. Maximum support amount: €60,000 (up to €120,000 in case of collaborative projects).
- Service-oriented projects: Supporting the introduction of the products through the development of additional services. This could include, for example, the development of specialized spraying equipment, decision-support tools, training programs, or communication strategies. Regions of implementation: all eligible regions. Maximum support amount: €60,000 (for collaborative projects, up to €120,000).”
