On 29 July 2025 in Budapest, DDRIÜ staff held discussions with colleagues from the National Development Centre dealing with the implementation of the Integrated Transport Development Operational Programme Plus (IKOP Plusz), namely Dr András Kiss, Head of Department, and Tünde Turóczy, Head of Unit. Gergely Gecse, rail transport desk officer at the Ministry of Construction and Transport (ÉKM), also attended the meeting.

For the PROMOTER Interreg Europe project, which is past its halfway point, it was concluded that the project should ideally contribute to 1.) the development of the four disadvantaged Hungarian regions, 2.) the development of transport in cities with county rights where neither trams nor trolleybuses operate, 3.) the development of micromobility (public bicycles and scooters, car sharing, etc.) at the local level, 4.) the more active involvement of vulnerable groups in public transport, 5.) the strengthening of an integrated approach and the promotion of the complex nature of projects, 6.) the enhancement of transport safety, and 7.) the development of smaller-scale transport or transport-supporting projects.
The Agency has been participating in two newly launched Interreg Europe projects since May 2025.
The RESONANCE project deals with the traffic-linked development of adaptive public lighting systems (application of sensors, vehicle-to-grid energy supply solutions, acquisition of real-time traffic information).
And the SMARTAUTO project focuses primarily on higher-level service provision in more poorly connected rural regions using multimodal and autonomous solutions. Colleagues from IKOP Plusz and the Ministry of Construction and Transport (ÉKM) assured us of their implementation and policy support for the above three projects.

The contribution of the South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency to the PROMOTER, RESONANCE and SMARTAUTO Interreg Europe projects is implemented with the co-financing of the European Union and Hungary.
