One of the keynote speakers at the workshop Farkas Pál, was the Director of Production and Industrial Engineering at Continental Automotive Hungary Kft., who in his presentation demonstrated that digitalisation, industrial simplification, data science applications, artificial intelligence and research and development play a key role in maintaining competitiveness, particularly in the face of challenges from the Chinese market. He addressed China's competitive advantages, the spectacular development of the past 50 years, and the weaknesses of the European/Western economy and industrial production. Furthermore, he illustrated the cost-effectiveness-aimed coaching processes between Continental's Chinese and Hungarian plants.

Continental's Veszprém site has carried out significant developments in this area, including the establishment of its own test track, which enables vehicle dynamics and safety systems to be tested in a real-world environment.

Following this, the participants discussed global economic and competitiveness challenges, as well as potential responses to them. Special attention was given to the role of digitalisation and artificial intelligence in the automotive industry, alongside the importance of local cooperation and knowledge sharing for the region's economic development. The cluster event contributed to strengthening collaboration among local industrial stakeholders and opened up new perspectives for future developments and joint projects.
