The PROMOTER Interreg Europe project, implemented with the participation of the South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency Nonprofit Ltd. (DDRIÜ), supports the development of regional strategies for sustainable mobility through green energy prosumer hubs.
The international opening conference of the project took place in Livorno, Italy, on 28-29 June 2023. Here, the PROMOTER partners briefly presented their baseline situation regarding territorial strategies, sustainable mobility, and green energy prosumer hubs. In addition to two staff members of the DDRIU who were present at the venue, two colleagues from the Managing Authority for the Integrated Transport Development Operational Programme Plus also attended the opening event.
July and August 2023 were about analysing the situation in Southern Transdanubia / Hungary. Here, the DDRIÜ compiled two documents.
One of them was the review of the so-called readiness indicators. During this process, we reviewed the domestic situation of renewable energy communities – which are novel yet crucial from the perspective of prosumer nodes – in terms of legislation, institutional/social acceptance, economics, and technology. The same analysis also reviewed operational aspects and environmental protection issues.
The other material was a so-called Status Quo Report, which, taking current statistical data and trends into account, described the endowments of the Southern Transdanubian region (energy and environmental endowments, population, settlement structure), the characteristics of mobility, energy, and the infrastructure related to the latter two areas. The report also featured the highlighting of key stakeholders, an overview of the legal and financial frameworks relevant to the topic of the project, and—as is customary—a concise SWOT analysis.
Because of the summer holiday season, we did not meet with the mentioned stakeholders either online or in person. The missed 1st PROMOTER stakeholder meeting will be made up for in September 2023.
Regarding the communication and dissemination of PROMOTER, the DDRIÜ has prepared the mandatory project poster as well as a Hungarian and an English roll-up.
