Why is this event important?
The Interreg Danube Region Back on Track the project's aim is to help those rural youths who currently neither in education, employment nor training (NEET). In many countries of the Danube region, they form a particularly vulnerable group: they have greater difficulty accessing information and support, and are often isolated from the labour market.
The project helps them by means of personalised online programmes, mentoring and digital skills development to find their way back into education, training or work – and for their mental resilience to be stronger too.
What does the Digital Work online career fair offer young people?
At the online event, the participating young people can get to know specific digital job opportunities and career paths, they can meet with employers and organisations, who are open to welcoming NEET young people, can talk with mentors, who give practical advice based on their own experiences, can get a picture of, what skills will they need, and where they can develop these.
The event is useful even if the young person is only just starting to find their way and has no work experience – the goal is that embark on a sustainable digital career.
Why is it worth stakeholders joining?
We look forward to welcoming not only young people to the event, but also the stakeholders who support them: local authorities, youth and civil society organisations, schools, social and employment service providers, employers, HR professionals and businesses.
For them, the career fair is an opportunity to to better reach rural NEET young people, an opportunity to showcase their own programmes, courses and job opportunities, entry point to into a Danube Region stakeholder network, networking space with professionals from other countries, by learning about good practices.
The long-term goal of Back on Track is a international support network, which works together to ensure that rural young people are not left alone with their decisions and difficulties.
