In the first quarter of 2025, an international questionnaire-based survey was conducted within the framework of the „Go_GREEN – New learning path promoting green entrepreneurship” project, the aim of which was to map the attitudes of young people (aged 15–29) towards sustainability and green enterprises.
The survey was conducted in six European countries (Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria and North Macedonia) and contains over 500 evaluable responses. The study pays particular attention to presenting the main differences between the individual countries, such as in terms of awareness of green programmes, the level of interest and the factors influencing participation.
The study presents:
- young people's entrepreneurial intent and views on sustainability,
- factors encouraging and hindering participation (e.g. financial constraints, lack of information, scheduling difficulties),
- the most popular sustainable business areas (e.g. circular economy, green technology, renewable energy sources),
- as well as the expectations and motivational patterns related to the programmes.
The results can be used:
- for the design and development of green business development programmes,
- for educational institutions, civil society organisations and decision-makers to improve the engagement of young people,
- furthermore, for any initiative that aims to bring sustainability closer to the younger generation.
