EDUCATE
Adult education is a key tool for boosting economic as well as personal growth, and it is an indispensable means for improving the lives of disadvantaged people and reducing inequalities across the board. For the last decades, organizations in Europe are struggling with supporting adult educators in different manners. Especially improving digital literacy means proactively using or addressing digital media and technology in education, which ensures inclusiveness for adult learners.
The field, now more than ever, has the chance and needs its actors to be connected and united in the push for its own transformation, evolution, and blossoming. The best approach to the transformation of traditional adult education methods is through digitalization: digital technology has implications for adult literacy; therefore, it is essential to adapt how and what adults learn.
The project brings together representatives of organisations from 6 countries (Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, Turkey).
The main outputs of the project are:
- IO1 - EDUCATE Interactive Digital Platform (HUB): addresses the need for an online collaboration platform for organisations providing digital competences education for adult learners to share their experiences, challenges and best practices within a common network.
- IO 2 – EDUCATE Certification of quality will consist of developing criteria which need to be answered by an organisation to receive certification; developing a certification methodology, which will be used by partners to evaluate the submitted for certification best practices; and finally developing and designing the certificate which can be received by the organizations.
- IO3 - EDUCATE Sustainability and Monitoring Toolkit. The toolkit aims to provide adult educators with useful materials and resources, in an easy-to-use format, based on scenarios that arise in their field of work and on globally recognised solutions to a wide range of issues related to educational pathways.
