Agro4SDGs | Erasmus+
Predominantly rural areas make up half of Europe and represent around 20% of the population. However, most of the rural areas are also among the least favored regions.
The idea of Agro4SDGs arises from the realization of the importance of women in strengthening the wealth of rural communities.
It is an innovative and relevant project, which implementation will contribute to the long-term vision for the EU’s rural areas and to the EU Green Deal strategy. Through its actions and results, Agro4SDGs also reinforces EU’s commitment to gender mainstreaming in farming and agriculture, empowering women interested in these fields and preventing a further gender gap in the generations to come.
The main objectives of the project are:
- To support a participatory and inclusive green transition in Europe's rural areas.
- To raise awareness and foster green competence building among Europe's rural citizens.
- To increase work in the agroecology sector to achieve Green Deal+Paris Agreement.
- To contribute to closing the gap between men and women in terms of their level of participation in economic activities.
Expected results:
- Awareness campaign for stakeholders' and communities' mobilization.
- Blended entrepreneurship learning path for rural women in agroecology.
- Socialization and active participation strategy towards supporting agroecological businesses led by women in Europe.
